Product Condition
Yes. We specialise in genuine antique, vintage and characterful pieces. Many of our items are decades or even centuries old, and their age is part of what makes them unique. We include details of the age of an item in their description.
Yes. As expected with antique and vintage furniture, most pieces will show signs of age and previous use, including small marks, scratches, repairs, colour variation or a natural patina. These are considered part of the item's character rather than imperfections.
We carefully inspect every item and provide an honest condition report within each product listing. Any significant wear, repairs or notable imperfections will be clearly described and, wherever possible, shown in the accompanying photographs.
Some pieces may have undergone sympathetic restoration to ensure they are structurally sound and suitable for modern living. Where restoration has taken place, this will be detailed in the product description where relevant.
Unless otherwise stated, our furniture is carefully inspected to ensure it is suitable for everyday use. Due to the age of many pieces, we recommend handling them with the care appropriate for antique and vintage furniture.
Yes. We make every effort to ensure our photographs accurately represent each item, but colours may vary slightly depending on your screen settings, lighting conditions and device.
Absolutely. If you'd like a closer look before purchasing, we're happy to provide additional photographs, close-up detail shots, videos or extra measurements whenever possible.
We measure every item as accurately as possible, but due to the handmade nature of many antique and vintage pieces, measurements should be treated as approximate. Minor variations are normal.
We carefully research and assess every piece before offering it for sale. While not every item carries a maker's mark or documented provenance, we describe each piece to the best of our knowledge and will always state if an attribution is believed rather than confirmed.
Many antiques have been cared for and repaired during their lifetime. Sympathetic historic repairs are often a sign that a piece has been valued and preserved over many years, and they frequently add to its story rather than detract from it.
We're always happy to help. If you'd like more information before purchasing, please get in touch. We can provide additional details, photographs or advice so you can buy with confidence.
Not usually. The small marks, wear and patina that naturally develop over time are part of the character and authenticity of antique and vintage pieces. We only consider issues to be faults if they affect an item's description, structural integrity or intended use. Any significant defects will always be clearly disclosed in the product listing.
Returns
Yes. If you've purchased an item online, you have the right to return it within 14 days of receiving your order, provided it is returned in the same condition in which it was supplied. Full details can be found in our Returns & Refund Policy.
Unless your item is faulty, damaged or not as described, you are responsible for arranging and paying for the return of the item. We recommend using a fully insured and tracked delivery service, particularly for valuable or fragile items.
Please contact us before returning your item. We'll provide instructions on the return process and the address to which the item should be sent. Items returned without prior notification may delay the processing of your refund.

Please inspect your order as soon as it arrives. If your item has been damaged during transit, contact us within 48 hours of delivery and include photographs of the item, its packaging and any damage. We'll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
If you receive an incorrect item, please contact us as soon as possible. We'll arrange for the correct item to be supplied or issue a full refund if the original item is no longer available.
Items purchased and collected directly from our showroom are not covered by the same cancellation rights as online purchases. However, if you believe there's an issue with your purchase, please contact us and we'll always aim to resolve the issue.
Unless the item is faulty or not as described, made-to-order, customised or personalised items cannot usually be returned. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Returned items should be in the same condition in which they were received, including any accessories or accompanying documentation where applicable. If an item has been used beyond what is necessary to inspect it, a deduction from the refund may be made in accordance with consumer legislation.
As most of our antiques and vintage pieces are one of a kind, exchanges are rarely possible. If you're looking for an alternative piece, please contact us and we'll do our best to help.
You still have the right to return eligible online purchases within the applicable cancellation period. Return shipping costs remain your responsibility unless the item is faulty, damaged or not as described.
Our aim is for every customer to be delighted with their purchase. If you have any questions about your order or the returns process, please get in touch and we'll be happy to assist.
Caring for Your Purchase
To keep antique wooden furniture looking its best, dust it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh household cleaners or abrasive products, as these can damage the finish. Keep furniture away from direct sunlight, radiators and other heat sources to help prevent fading, warping and cracking.
Less is often more. We recommend using a high-quality wax or polish sparingly and only when needed. Over-polishing can lead to a build-up that dulls the natural beauty of the wood. Always test any product on an inconspicuous area first and follow the manufacturer's instructions.
We recommend using coasters, placemats and protective mats beneath hot dishes, drinks and decorative objects. Excessive heat and moisture can mark or damage wood, veneers and historic finishes.
Wood is a natural material that expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Small gaps, movement and hairline cracks are a normal characteristic of solid timber and often add to the authenticity and charm of antique furniture.
Avoid placing antique furniture in direct sunlight or close to radiators, fireplaces, underfloor heating outlets or air conditioning units. Stable room temperatures and moderate humidity will help preserve your furniture for many years.
Use products specifically designed for the material you're cleaning and avoid allowing liquids to come into contact with surrounding wood. Always use soft, non-abrasive cloths and avoid harsh chemicals that may damage original finishes or patina.
Yes. Gentle wear, colour variation, small marks and the natural patina that develops over time are all part of what makes antique and vintage pieces unique. These characteristics reflect an item's history and are not considered defects.
Absolutely. Many antique and vintage pieces were built to last and can be enjoyed in everyday life. We simply recommend treating them with the same care you would give any quality furniture to help preserve their condition.
Natural materials continue to age gracefully. Timber may develop a richer colour, while leather, brass and other materials will naturally evolve with use. These changes are part of the character and appeal of genuine antique and vintage pieces.
If you have any questions about caring for your purchase or believe a piece would benefit from professional restoration, please get in touch. We'll be happy to offer guidance or recommend the most appropriate course of action where possible.
