Large West German Fat Lava Ceramic Floor Vase, Model 923-35, c.1970s

A striking large West German ceramic floor vase dating from the early 1970s, featuring an exceptionally vibrant red lava glaze with contrasting cobalt blue geometric relief decoration. Produced during the height of the Fat Lava movement, the vase combines bold architectural patterning with richly textured volcanic glazes, making it an outstanding decorative statement piece.

Standing approximately 35 cm tall, the cylindrical form is decorated with repeating geometric motifs that wrap around the body, while the heavily textured glaze creates remarkable depth and character. The underside retains its original impressed W. Germany mark together with the shape number 923-35.

Whether displayed on a sideboard, shelving or as a standalone floor vase, this piece brings a distinctive Mid-Century Modern aesthetic and bold colour to an interior.

Very Good Original Condition

The glaze remains vibrant with only light age-related wear consistent with careful use. No obvious cracks or restoration observed from the photographs.
